Grimsby Town Foundations heritage project #RememberWhenGTFC are delighted to have played a small part in Rob McIlveen’s latest book. The book explores the 1933-34 season when the Club were last promoted to the top division. It’s a great read for any fan of Grimsby Town!
As part of the heritage project, we’re looking to connect with the family of each player as well as the manager and trainer from that season, with a view to sharing memories and gifting a copy of the book. We’ve already made a start but are looking for any memories and connections people have on them:
- Tommy Read
- Jimmy Kelly
- Hughie Jacobson
- Alec ‘Ginger’ Hall
- Harry Betmead
- Teddy Buck
- Dennis Jennings
- Jackie Bestall
- Pat Glover
- Charlie Craven
- Les Dodds
- Jimmy Dyson
- Wally Ponting
- Max Holmes
- Jack Waring
- Cyril Lewis
- Matt Moralee
- Frank Womack (Manager)
- Mo Atherton (Trainer)
The project of course isn’t just focussed on the early years of the Club and would love to talk to anybody with memories and memorabilia from any point in our history. Contact can be made by visiting the football club or by emailing kristinegreen@gtfc.co.uk
Copies of the book can be ordered through the Mariners Trust, costing just £12.00 here.
